I have a few different ones for you...so for your reading pleasure...
Who would have thought: that the first three weeks of school would have gone so fast? I wasn't looking forward to returning to SG this year with the new schedules. I felt betrayed (and still do to some extent). But going back---I'm so glad I did. The year is moving quickly. And the students are still making me happy to be a teacher. We finally have a system that is running smoothly and efficiently. We are organized and students are ready to go. They finally understand the control they have in their grades...and this week only 6 of 150 kids missed their lessons (of those 1 was ill, 1 was testing, and 1 was on vacation). I can't believe I wanted to leave so badly. I'm glad I didn't. This is where I need to be right now.
Who would have thought: that we'd be counting the days, hours, and minutes (ok...I'm the only counting minutes and that's only because the clock on the blog keeps track for me!) to the wedding without stressing out? There are still things to do and bills to be paid, but I think it's in control. The plans are certainly stable so now, let the fun begin! (Ok, the whole thing has been fun...)
Who would have thought: that I'd be looking forward to the weekend so that I could stay home and clean? It's my weekend thing because I can't seem to do it during the week. But me, looking forward to cleaning? Weird. Duane works this weekend...so I'll have time during the day to clean (and run the vacuum on the ever present dog-haired carpet) without disturbing him. He has also informed me what he wants for supper tomorrow night for a change, although being a tex-mex chili I think I would rather wait until we can keep the doors and windows open all night. Brandi will STINK if she gets to lap up a little of the leftovers!
Who would have thought: that someone would actually take me up on the "you should start one of these blogs" comments? Awesome Lee Family! I miss you guys and really enjoy reading what you have to say. I also really hope to see you at the wedding (but would understand if you couldn't make the VERY long drive!) All I can tell you...there will be cake. Lots of cake. From your post today, I gather that you really like that! ;-)
Who would have thought: that getting those little RSVP cards back in the mail would be so fun? When they first came in I opened the whole batch right away. The next day, I got home and they were already opened. Apparently Duane likes to open the mail too! Now we split the duties. He'll open one or two occasionally (and read through the envelopes for the rest). So far, we've received responses from 22% of those we sent them to. Not bad considering if most people are like me they won't send them until closer to when they are "due" near the end of October. So yeah, keep sending them! It makes everyday a good day for us!
Who would have thought: (last one, I promise) that I would like adding these little blog things so much? I'm glad I didn't commit to more than once a week or so...so there's no pressure...but I do find myself thinking throughout the week about what I'll write about next. Hopefully it's interesting...even it's most trivial.
That's it. For now anyway. Goodnight!
